2023 SDNYC Endorsement Process


Endorsement Meeting: Wednesday May 10th @7pm 
The LGBT Center on 13th Street
Room 310

SDNYC will be meeting to endorse City Council and District Attorney candidates for the June 2023 Primary.Questionnaire answers will be posted to our website and emailed out in the coming days.  Ballots will be sent to eligible members on Wednesday night for voting. Results will be shared Thursday morning!

ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERS TO VOTE ON ENDORSEMENTS

  • Individuals who are 2023 SDNYC Members will be eligible to vote

  • A ballot will be emailed to each eligible voter the night of the election, due several hours later

  • Individuals who have been dues paying members of SDNYC in 2021 or 2022 are eligible to pay the Club's 2023 dues to receive a ballot (payment can submitted online up to the day of the endorsement meeting)

  • Individuals who were not dues paying members of SDNYC in 2021 or 2022, must have paid the Club's 2021 membership dues by MAY 5th, 2023 to be eligible to vote

2023 SDNYC Candidate Questionnaire

For over 30 years, The Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC has played a pivotal role in municipal, state, and federal elections. In June, New York City will be holding a primary elections for City Council and District Attorney. SDNYC will once again:

  • Question candidates on issues important to the LGBTQ Community.

  • Present candidates to our membership for endorsement votes.

  • Support our endorsed candidates in the primary election.

Important Dates

  • March 20th - Questionnaire published

  • Deadline Extended to Sunday, April 30th - Questionnaires due

  • May 3rd - Responses posted online & sent to members

  • May 10th - Endorsement Meeting & voting by members in good standing


Endorsement in prior elections does not guarantee endorsement and all candidates who wish to be endorsed by SDNYC must complete questionnaire for 2023.

NOTE - Information requested in sections 1-4 of the below questionnaire will be published online at www.sdnyc.org in advance of SDNYC's endorsement meetings. Information requested in section 5 will not be shared.
