2026 SDNYC Endorsements

2026 will be a critical year for elections in our city, state, and country. SDNYC is committed to endorsing, campaigning for, and electing representatives who will fight to advance the rights, priorities, and ideals of the LGBTQ community.

The endorsement process will include:

  • Asking candidates to office to submit a questionnaire, which will be published for our members to review

  • Hosting candidiate nights for SDNYC members to hear from and ask questions of candidates

  • SDNYC membership will vote on the club’s endorsements

  • SDNYC members and campaigns will coordinate to support and promote our endorsed candidates

ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERS TO VOTE ON ENDORSEMENTS

  • Individuals who are 2026 SDNYC Members will be eligible to vote

  • Individuals who have been dues paying members of SDNYC in 2024 or 2025 are eligible to pay the Club's 2026 dues to receive a ballot (payment can submitted online up to the day of the endorsement meeting)

  • Per the current SDNYC Constitution and By Laws, individuals who were not dues paying members of SDNYC in 2024 or 2025, must have paid the Club's 2026 membership dues 90 days before the club endorsement vote.

For Candidates: 2026 Endorsement Questionnaires

Thank you for your interest in the endorsement of the Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC. For 40 years, SDNYC has played an important part in municipal, state, and federal elections, evaluating candidates on their records and issues important to the LGBTQ community. Our endorsement process includes: 

  • Tuesday, March 10th - Questionnaires published 

  • Friday, April 3rd - Questionnaires due 

  • Wednesday, April 7th - Questionnaire responses posted online and sent to SDNYC members 

  • In Person Endorsement Meetings - Candidates are invited to speak to our members, followed by a vote 

    • Wednesday April 15th - NYS Assembly & NYS Senate

    • Wednesday April 22nd - Congress, Statewide Offices
