About The SDNYC Lew Todd Scholarship
The SDNYC Lew Todd Scholarship was created in memory of SDNYC founder, Lew Todd and provides a full year scholarship to an undergraduate student at Hunter College who has demonstrated a firm commitment to and active engagement with LGBT issues, has maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher throughout their college enrollment, and envisions a future that includes continued advocacy for LGBT equity.
The Lew Todd Scholarship is supported by SDNYC and by donations from generous supporters like you! See below for two ways to support the Scholarship today!
1) Donate via SDNYC's paypal account (Click the “special instruction” button to note that the contribution is for our scholarship or send us an email with date of the contribution and the amount donated.)
2) Donate directly on Hunter College's website (You must select the SDNYC Lew Todd Scholarship Fund from the “Designation” drop down menu to ensure the contribution gets to the correct scholarship - see below image for more info)
2016-2017 SDNYC Lew Todd Scholarship Award!
Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC is pleased to join with The LGBT Social Science & Public Policy Center at CUNY’s Hunter College to announce that Dean Gailey has been selected as the recipient of SDNYC Lew Todd Scholarship for the 2016-2017 school year! Dean Gailey is a senior at Hunter College, double majoring in Women and Gender Studies and Human Biology. They are a JFEW Eleanor Roosevelt Scholar and a fellow with the LGBT Social Science & Public Policy Center at Roosevelt House, researching nursing education policy for LGBTQ populations. Dean has presented on nonbinary and transgender representation in undergraduate health curricula and restructuring medical documentation to better accommodate trans and nonbinary patients. In the future, Dean hopes to utilize their multidisciplinary studies in social justice, human rights, and public health to support a future role as a leader in LGBTQ healthcare, advocacy, and education.
