February Meetings
It remains a challenging time for those of us who care about justice, peace, and equality in this country. In the wake of the murder of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, the kidnapping and murdering immigrants and people of color on sight, and the terrifying attacks on our constitutionally protected rights, this moment demands action.
Please join SDNYC at 6:30pm Wed. Feb 18th at the LGBT Cetner for a special meeting on fighting fascism.
We will be joined by the ACLU, to present a Know Your Rights training on how to protest and resist ICE in NYC. We will also learn from leaders at Make the Road about the New York 4 All Act, legislation in Albany that is gaining steam to prevent local and state law enforcement and agencies from conspiring with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
On Wed. Feb 25th, SDNYC will host our regularly scheduled February General Meeting, looking to the NYC City Council. We will hear from candidates for the special election Council District 3, as well as a discussion with our members on LGBTQ priorities for city action. Note: this meeting will be held at the Church of the Village, 201 West 13th Street.
