November is Transgender Awareness Month. This is a time to celebrate NYC’s Transgender community but more importantly it is an opportunity for us all to come together to push for gender non-discrimination laws to be passed, for hate crimes protections to be increased, and to raise awareness of the unique needs of this important part of the LGBT community.

Transgender Awareness Month culminates with a Transgender Day of Remembrance which will take place on November 20th this year. There are many events taking place in recognition of this important day and SDNYC strongly encourages you to participate in these upcoming events.
